Housing expenses are included with the salary to equal a minimum of $35,420 to $44,275 depending on experience and education. Job Summary

The Coordinator of Residential Life is a live-in member of the Office of Campus Life and Housing professional staff and is responsible for the co-curricular learning environment in the residence halls at the college.

Supervisory and management responsibilities include, supervising the Resident Assistant team (students).

Reports To Director of Student Affairs, Gillette College
Education/Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required, master’s degree in Student Personnel or closely related field preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Knowledge of Title IX and VAWA

Preferred – Working knowledge of the Residence Life module of Datatel’s Colleague system

Ability to work on and manage multiple projects

Must be willing to work in a team environment

Demonstrated ability to work with a wide variety of college personnel;

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

Ability to work with students, both individually and in groups

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

Must be an energetic, innovated individual who is self-disciplined, detail oriented,

Able to work varied hours and weekends

About Northern Wyoming Community College District

Gillette College is located in Gillette, WY, the county seat of Campbell County. Located midway between the Big Horn Mountains to the West and the Black Hills of South Dakota to the east. Experience

Live-in residence life work experience.

Preferred, one year of experience in campus programming or campus centers, developing workshops and conducting staff training.

Job Duties

These are the job duties for required of the position.

Responsibility/Duty

Residential Life:
o Supervise/implement appropriate procedures during emergency or crisis situations in residence halls, in conjunction with supervisor, Housing staff, Facilities Management, Campus Police, Counseling, and off-campus agencies (local authorities, medical facilities/personnel, etc.) as required.
o Supervise and evaluate Resident Assistants: coordinate RA Selection process; coordinate, plan, and conduct training programs and staff meetings; confer regularly with staff to plan and coordinate programming and activities, assist with difficult or unusual tasks or situations, resolve problems, and develop RA Calendar, including but not limited to programming, duty schedules, departmental needs and special assignments, etc.
o Advise Residence Hall Association
o Interpret and enforce a wide variety of College Policies and Residence Life Handbook and protocol governing student behavior
o Participate in formal and informal disciplinary procedures as necessary, referring situations to supervisor, campus judicial boards, local authorities, etc as necessary
o Informally investigate, assess and determine appropriate methods of resolving various interpersonal and community problems in the halls such as conflicts between roommates or floor mates, vandalism, etc
o Assist in the development of Living-Learning Communities
o Assist with publications and web page
o Assist with assessment activities

Responsibility/Duty

Housing:
o Facilitate all aspects of housing operations including but not limited to room selection, room change requests, prioritizing housing projects, budget development, etc.
o Oversee the daily residence hall operations
o Coordinate the opening and closing of the residence halls
o Participate in evening and weekend duty coverage

Campus Center:
o Supervise building managers and front desk staff
o Coordinate and conduct training program and meetings for building staff
o Assist in the weekend on call rotation to support the staff and operation of the building
o Assist with programs organized by outside groups
